Confederate General Robert E. Lee on his most famous horse, Traveller. Lee described his faithful horse in a letter in response to Mrs. Lee’s cousin, Markie Williams, who wished to paint a portrait of Traveller: If I was an artist like you, I would draw a true picture of Traveller; representing his fine proportions, muscular figure, deep chest, short back, strong haunches, flat legs, small head, broad forehead, delicate ears, quick eye, small feet, and black mane and tail. Such a picture would inspire a poet, whose genius could then depict his worth, and describe his endurance of toil, hunger, thirst, heat and cold; and the dangers and suffering through which he has passed. He could dilate upon his sagacity and affection, and his invariable response to every wish of his rider. He might even imagine his thoughts through the long night-marches and days of the battle through which he has passed. How do I know your image description is accurate?
We strive to make our photo descriptions as accurate as possible. Descriptions are taken directly from the U.S. Library of Congress, National Archives, or other sources as noted. When can I expect my package?
Items are delivered via USPS First Class mail (2-5 business days) with no longer than one (1) day handling time. Your item should not be considered untimely unless it has not been received after one full week from your payment date (within the United States). Please consider weekends and holidays when anticipating your package arrival date as well.
Standard international delivery times vary depending on location.  While First Class International usually delivers within 7-14 business days, it offers no guarantee on delivery times and may take up to a month (usually due to customs issues).  Please take this into consideration if you are outside the United States and are placing a time-sensitive order.  Tracking is not available on standard international shipments.  Expedited international shipping is available and includes tracking service.  International expedited shipping delivers in approximately 7 business days.
Is your transit packaging secure?
Great care will be taken to ensure that your item arrives in excellent condition. Prints are shipped flat on cardboard and sealed in a water-resistant envelope or, for posters and maps, rolled in a crush-resistant tube. We’ve successfully shipped thousands of prints in this manner, which demonstrates a reliability in our packaging methods.  Items will arrive in good order when handled
properly
by postal carriers.
Please note that we pay extra charges to have parcels delivered as PACKAGES, not regular mail.  This means your carrier should deliver your package to your doorstep (not bend or cram it into your mailbox).  Should you find your package damaged due to this type of handling, please contact your local post office.
How long do I have to pay?
Payment is expected within (7) seven days.
If payment is not received by the eighth day after purchase, we will i
